We are delighted to announce the launch of the Braidholm 7s 2011. The tournament will take place on Saturday the 21st of May.

The main tournament will again be an open format with an emphasis on the 'social' aspect. 16 teams will battle it out (4 pools of 4 followed by knockout rounds) to be crowned the 2011 champions and bring home the £500 prize.

This year we will also be running an additonal elite event, with 8 teams split across 2 pools and the winner taking home a £1000 prize. Any teams interested in entering this event must first contact the organisers via the contact page. We are hoping to attract some big names from the 7s world so watch this space!

The Kaiviti Krusaders won the first ever Braidholm 7s in an epic game against Cairn.

Kaiviti were 28-12 up and appeared to have the game sewn up only for Cairn to make a sensational late come back, bringing the score to 28-26. Then in what was just about the final play of the game, Cairn came agonisingly close to scoring the winning try withone of their players being held up inches short of the line.

It was a fantastic day in general with a large crowd enjoying some great rugby in the sunshine.

See you all again next year!
